Our Journey

My name is Patrick Hicks, and I'm the songwriter and producer behind Stillwater Kin. I share the same name as my grandfather who co-founded Musicians Institute (MI) in 1977—a legacy of creativity and passion for sharing music with the world.

While I wasn't blessed with traditional musical talent, I was blessed with a passion for technology and a deep love for our world. That combination led me to songwriting. I write songs and lyrics centered on one mission: spreading positivity, hope, love, and with a little humor and saltyness mixed in.

With a full-time career I'm passionate about, I could never have pursued music the traditional way. But technology has given me an incredible opportunity. Using AI, I'm able to create and produce the songs and lyrics that live in my heart—something that would have remained impossible without these tools.

Stillwater Kin represents the intersection of my two worlds: technology enabling creativity, and music as a vehicle for spreading light. Every song, every lyric is crafted with intention to uplift, inspire, and connect with those that hear it.

I'm grateful to my friend Petey Jones, whose energy, marketing expertise, and vision have been instrumental in bringing these songs to you.

This music exists because technology made it possible. I'm here to share it with anyone who needs a reminder that positivity, love, and hope are always worth fighting for.
